September Holiday Fun

Almost Here! September School Holidays

The September School Holidays are traditionally very busy for many families going away as the accommodation pricing is less than in the summer holidays

…but what if you can’t go away? You might not be eligible for holidays right now, there could be a whole range of reasons for not being able to go away

Here are a few tips for the September School Holidays on what you could do in and around Murarrie

Rocks Park Gateway Bridge

There is a beautiful spot under the Gateway Bridges (now called ‘Sir Leo Hilsher Bridges) ideal for picnics. You can reach this spot via Metroplex and walk along the Brisbane River towards the Park

From the other side, you can make your way toward this spot via Lytton Road and down the ‘cool’ bike path, perfect also for skateboard riding! ….of course, you’ll need to get back up too!

This park is great for walking, playing games, using the bike path but there’s no playground so be prepared

If you’d like to take the kids to a playground, you’ll be better off visiting Vicky Wilson Park on Rawlinson Street, near the Murarrie Oval

Vicky Wilson Park has playground equipment and BBQ facilities so ideal to get out and have some holiday fun

Of course there are also heaps of great things to do for the kids that the council organises like visiting the Boondall Wetlands Environment Centre and Downfall Creek Bushland Centre with loads of free activities

Have fun!
